Hello Claudio,

it seems we do appreciate the same time line of comics =)
Please check my site dedicated to european comics of that era. Most of the imported material was italian, if you have some inputs in order to add more details, it'll be much appreciated =)

I'm sure you have lots of beauties in your collection. If you want to share them, maybe we can add them on the site, or we could compare the truncated french printed version vs original italian stuff ! I'm sure you have lots of details for the italian artists as well or to inform what was the correct italian first print !
Anyway, if you 're interested to share let's do it !
Ciao,

Fred

Merci =)

To Claudio in order to gain you some translation time =) I was saying that we could march on the tracks of the first comics historians who talked about those truncated french versions, or who missed the ability to track the correct artists or writers not credited. But that nowadays we could improve the knowledge. At my level i'm not an historian, i've created my site because i'm passionate about comics of that era =) But if we can help the true historians by preserving, then the better !

Fing Fang Foom tu peux traduire, STP. :D

piccic, tu peux me tutoyer.
I can do it, although I have very little time right now, and trying to devote it to my wartime research (although even Kirby came fighting in Europe, with the army of General Patton, he had his legs frozen and was ospitalized near Metz, if I recall correctly (I am just realizing the incredible coincidence, as Kurt Caesar was born in Metz and at the time he was in Africa with General Erwin Rommel!)

Fred: thanks much, that is very interesting, although I am more focused on comics related to the contemporary climate of the war, but of course no matter the genre they speak eloquently not only about that time, but about us in general.

I might contact you later on. I still have to check some numbers of "Le journal de Toto" that I purchased recently. For now thanks much!

That was (and is, day by day) radically changed by the opportunities offered by the Internet and of sharing materials and ideas online, globally.
One of the positive facets of globalization. I see you’re very passionate about this, like me, I am no historian either but my approach became more and more focused on history as I realized I needed it. By studying Caesar and Il Vittorioso is unavoidable… If you want my email address, send me a Private Message.

I pick up my presentation thread once again to tell that, after over two years, I am trying to pick up a bit my ongoing historical research on wartime comics and italian authors, related to "Il Vittorioso".
My parents health problems and family issues forced me to stop, but now I wish to try to devote some bits of time to it, so I show up again. :)
For now: a Merry Christmas time to everyone!
---
:)

Hello Piccic,

Thanks for the "Merry Christmas", but it's followed by a sad year 2020...
(And sorry for your parents problems...)
